George Whitefield and Revival
Introduction
George Whitefield was one of the prominent leaders during the Great Awakening which happened in America in the mid-1700s. He was British but travelled to America and preached there with the Wesley brothers. He was one of the open-air preachers. He did this because his preaching method was not very accepted by most churches in England during his time. When he went back to England in 1741, he raised funds for the construction of an orphanage he helped establish.
